Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center

The absolute best hotel experience we've ever had. We were in Virginia Beach visiting our son who is stationed here in the Navy. The room was spacious, with a King bed and couch area. There was a mini fridge. Coffee supplies, Super stylish Ice bucket and real drinking glasses. Everything seemed brand new. The shower water pressure was off the charts. Bath linens were plentiful. Something that really stood out was how safe this place felt. This hotel was in it's own parkinglot. Not shared with anything else. There were surveillance cameras in the parking lot which made us feel secure in leaving a boatload of wrapped gifts in our back seat the first day. You couldn't go up in the elevators unless you used your room key. You couldn't access the indoor pool or gym without your room key. And at night, arriving after a certain time, we couldn't get in the building without our room key. The breakfast every morning was amazing. Fresh food and plenty of it. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly and professional. We only got the name of one employee, Tobi, he was remarkable.

This hotel has great potential. We love staying at Hyatt hotels. My family enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The shower is nice and open. Fixtures are modern. The shower door wouldn't stay closed but that was not a big deal. The room was nice except we saw ants. The first night of our stay I saw one or two and although I wasn't thrilled to see this I figured it was just a fluke. I killed them with some tissue and proceeded on with our night. The couch had some light pink stains on it but we weren't going to be using the couch so I let that go also. We ended up staying a total of three nights and each day I saw ants. We didn't switch rooms because it would have been too much of a hassle because we were traveling with our dog and he had a rough time getting used to the room we were in. Overall I would definitely choose Hyatt over any other hotel but they definitely need to take care of the ant problem in room 504.

We recently traveled to Virginia Beach and chose to stay here due to proximity to restaurants. This location did not disappoint. There are plenty of walkable restaurants and stores within 5-10 minutes walk. The hotel itself was very clean and quiet. The staff were incredible helpful and went out of their way to make our stay excellent. Parking was free and easy to find, and the lot was well lit and felt safe. The only thing that didn’t quite reach 5 stars was the breakfast. It was a pretty typical hotel breakfast assortment. The eggs were bland and waffles/pancakes were dry. But at the end of the day, my expectations for a hotel breakfast are generally pretty low, so I did not deduct a star for this.

I have been a loyal hayatt member for over 10 years, and this has been my worst experience ever. My stay was 5 days long. Not once was my room cleaned my entire stay. Day #3 I head down to the lobby and ask the front desk person if our room was ever going to get cleaned. The person at the desk was a trans, very unprofessional and unpleasant, and said we are only cleaning rooms every other day. Well that still means it should have been cleaned by now. Someone finally showed up an hour later. Gave us new towels, and toilet paper and left. Didn't take the 5 dirty towels nor changed our sheets. I go back downstairs and said can I please have my bed made and clean linen. The response was we don't normally change sheets. Another 30 min passes and someone comes back up stairs to change the sheets. And the sheets that they put on the bed had blood stains on it. Completely nasty!!!! The breakfast each morning ( Wet eggs, uncooked microwave bacon, cold hard pancakes, coffee not made 3 out of the 5 nights. All the food was either cold, not prepared correctly, or just nasty. The phone in our bedroom had no cord on it, so the only way to make calls were through the speaker phone. The building halls were extremely hot like they had the heat set to 80, when it was was 60 outside! As a loyal member i have always received 2 waters for free, when i asked for them each day, i was told that I'm not a member 🤣🤣🤣 I have never had such a unpleasant stay at a hayatt hotel. Not sure I'll ever book again at this location 😪

Surprisingly this hotel was modern and clean! Pros: the shower head and hot water were amazing and the shower and bathroom were clean no mold no rust up dated decor and fixtures. The bed was decent not horrible. Cons: I hate carpet so one better if is remove the carpet and replace with faux wood. Another better if is consider changing your late check out from 12 to 1 especially for members. I asked a woman at the front desk late on Dec 16 she wasn’t pleasant and said 12 is the latest, she could have been more accommodating and professional but she wasn’t. The Westin gives 1-2 late check out. Think outside the box Hyatt….
